Gound Zero, Trinity Site

White Sands Missile Range, NM 2 April, 2011, Trinity Site National Historic Landmark.   During the last free public tour a young boy gingerly touches the Trinity Site Mounument marking ground zero where the first atomic bomb, constructed under the Manhatten Project, was tested on July 16, 1945, at 5:29:45 a.m. Mountain War Time.  The second atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, Japan on August 6, the third on Nagasaki, Japan on August 9 and on August 14, 1945 Japan surrendered ending World War II..  Trinity Site National Historic Landmark is located in the White Sands Missile Range, southwest of Socorro, New Mexico.
