Skull and Adobe

The Southwest is full of legends, myths, icons and symbols.  The bleached skull  has long symbolic history with the west, from bufflo skulls left across the plains to their incorporation of skulls into modern art and decor.  Charlie Russell used a skull as a signature, Georgia O'Keefe the artist  incoroporated skulls in her paintings for juxtaposition and contrast.  This one hangs from a Tucson adobe's courtyard vigas.
