Visitors at Trinity Site

White Sands Missile Range, NM 2 April, 2011, Trinity Site National Historic Landmark.  Two visitors discuss the Trinity Site and the Manhatten Project during the last free public tour while his pet dachshund could care less. The Trinity Site Monument, marking ground zero, is where the first atomic bomb, constructed under the Manhatten Project, was tested on July 16, 1945, at 5:29:45 a.m. Mountain War Time is in the background.  The second atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, Japan on August 6, the third on Nagasaki, Japan on August 9 and on August 14, 1945 Japan surrendered ending World War II..  Trinity Site National Historic Landmark is located in the White Sands Missile Range, southwest of Socorro, New Mexico.
